History of establishment

The UiTM Disability Services Unit (UPO UiTM) was officially established on November 1, 2019. The establishment of UPO UiTM aligns with the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Inclusive Policy for Persons with Disabilities in Higher Education Institutions, which was launched on September 5, 2019, by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.

UiTM is the first public university in Malaysia to place the Disability Services Unit under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
